This subject was difficult for me, my own style is so HoboRockish. I chose a picture of my daughter standing in her school prom. I edited & painted the photo with Gimp. I think her pose and attitude were so glamourous that night and I was so proud of her, still am and will be forever.

I see you use the Gimp a lot - I was playing with it a little but then I got Painter.

Gimp is a brilliant and familiar to me, don't know which is the most important quality. In this image only the BG and the colours & lightning were carefully edited and painted to meet the model's beauty.

That is really lovely. Proms seem bitter sweet, being proud of them and them looking beautiful, and them growing up! I am not there yet.

Kim, so right you are, bitter sweet is a good description for the feeling. But the sweet part is definetely the stronger part, I can assure for your future prom as a mom. "We love our children so much that we let them grow"- my motto, I hope, a guiding line anyway. Thank you for your comment.
